A Little About Mildly Cooked

G'day! My name is Marlee and I'm the artist, illustrator and slightly questionable mind behind Mildly Cooked.

I'm a self-taught, multidisciplinary artist who spends much of my creative time making fine art inspired by light, emotion and the beautiful things in life.

But there's another side to me.

I'm also a sarcastic, sassy little Aussie who loves a good laugh, a bit of banter and unfortunately, has an almost uncontrollable need to take the piss out of absolutely everything.

It's a gift. And a curse. Mostly for the people around me.

So naturally, I needed somewhere to channel that energy.

And so, Mildly Cooked was born.

A collection of hand-illustrated Australian wildlife with big personalities, questionable attitudes and absolutely no qualifications to be handing out life advice.

Think cheeky cockatoos, dramatic lizards, emotionally exhausted birds and the occasional creature that's just trying to get through the bloody day (hey mumma's.. sound familiar?!).

Every illustration is created by me, inspired by our wonderfully ridiculous Australian wildlife, everyday life and the sort of humour that probably shouldn't make me laugh as much as it does.

It's a little different from my fine art world, but it's every bit as much me.
